Introduction
We have designed and evaluated MAC protocols for high speed networks, and developed performance model for several standard network protocols. Please see list of publications for details. Examples include the following.
  • A performance model has been developed to predict the throughput and delay characteristics of different priority classes of FDDI Timed Token Protocol. A proposal has been presented to the ANSI X3T12 Standards Committee for FFOL (FDDI Follow-On LAN).
  • Register Insertion Bus - A MAC protocol for optical folded bus RBCA
  • Request Based Channel Access Protocol on Folded Bus, (see Proc. Local Computer Networks, 1995)
This project is now complete.
